For the archery scenes I plan to do in my film I need to film a location that will be suitable for long distance shooting(establishing shot) but also be safe for cast and crew members on set. Because I have all the gear myself I don't need to go to an outside source to gain any props that would be needed for filming. Because of this and I have decided to film in my garden as I will not need to transport any of the equipment to another location,it is close to the other locations I plan to film in this makes the production easier. the garden is certainly long enough but the problem now is trying to not make the location look like a student film. I always think that one of the main problems with student films is that they are filmed in tacky locations available to students. Which is why I wanted to be ambitious as possible when it came to location for my film. Because of this I'm going to be filming a lot of the archery scenes in close up with shallow depth of focus to keep the viewers eye looking on what is important.
Because of travel and the foreseen problem of getting all cast, crew and equipment to location I've decided to try limit the amount of heavy equipment I use for my production. One problem this causes is that I really wanted a tracking shot In my film that tracks in slowly of me laid in bed. The storyboards and scripts have been made that this shot is a kind of foundation shot that the film keeps cutting back too. Because I am unable to transport all the track to location I have decided to try create the same shot but with the slider. This alternative means I will have a shorter track( move in) than I would with the tracking dolly but this also still lets me have the same shot type I planned for.
